Christopher Guard, the actor-artist-musician
Christopher Guard, pictured left on set with Brian Blessed, is one of Britain’s most successful and best-loved actor-musician-artists. He was born in London, England, in 1953, into a phenomenally successful theatrical family. His brother is the former actor Dominic Guard (Gandhi, 1983, Picnic at Hanging Rock, 1975); his cousin is the acclaimed actress Pippa Guard (Roger Roger, BBC, 1998-2000, Poirot ‘The ABC Murder’ series, 1992); his father is the prolific stage actor Philip Guard; and his mother is the actress Charlotte Mitchell (The Goon Show, the Adventures of Black Beauty, 1972-1974).
Though he joined the National Theatre aged 20, his acting career took off during his teens when he was cast as the young David Copperfield in the BBC’s 1966 TV serial adaptation. He went on to appear in numerous TV and film roles in a celebrated acting career that has spanned five decades. Learn more about Christopher’s acting background, here.
